Dear Church on a Mission Family,
Beginning on May 24, 2020 we will resume in-person gatherings at Church on a Mission.
While we are not willing to "operate in fear," we believe we should "operate in wisdom, with caution, and in love." With this in mind, we will be operating under "phase 1 protocols" as directed by and in cooperation with the President's guidelines at https://www.whitehouse.gov/openingamerica/ and with the Louisiana Fire Marshal's recommended guidelines for houses of worship. We believe these steps and requests are reasonable.
Please be prepared emotionally as "church services" may not look or feel "normal" for several weeks. These should be considered temporary measures and will NOT become a "new normal" for worship.
During Phase 1 this is how church will look:
We will continue our regular service times at 9:30am & 11:15am for in-person gatherings while also adding a 5pm online service.
Lifegroups will no longer meet until the fall. However, we will begin "Equip Classes" which are small groups in June.
When you arrive on campus:
-All doors will be propped open.
-Facemask MUST be worn by all attending. (The city of Kenner owns the Pontchartrain Center and this is thier protocol that we must obey)
-Temperature checks before entering facility. (The city of Kenner owns the Pontchartrain Center and this is thier protocol that we must obey)
-We will be in a larger room so that all attending can be more spaced out and be in the guidelines of our state.
-There will be no coffee or snacks during phase 1.
-Service guidess will be optional at auditorium door.
-Tithing buckets will not be passed around, instead stations will be available to drop off your tithe.
There will be NO Kids on a Mission during phase 1. However, nursery will be optional for 1 year and younger.
For toddlers that get fussy during service we will have a "Family Room" that you can bring them into where you will still be able to hear the sermon.
Our top priority is to keep all of you safe. If you are at high risk or still feel umcomfortable with attending, then it is best to continue to stay at home and attend church online.
